Invest In Yourself

How much do you invest in yourself? We are so busy looking after 'the other'...all the other people and priorities in our lives...that often we put ourselves at the bottom of the list.
Quick fix self investments (getting your hair done, buying clothes) are well and good, but they are only temporary. Self-investment that lasts takes something more enduring. How would you like to discover your potential by investing in yourself, so you can lead your life your way?
Investing in yourself takes courage, commitment and most of all, the belief that you are worth it. Sometimes self investment takes money and it always takes time. I recently decided to invest in myself by rebranding and rethinking my Coaching business, because I realised it was time to take myself to the next level in my professional journey. Yes, it has taken time. Yes, it has taken money, commitment and courage. Why did I do it? Because I know investing thoroughly in myself is the best investment I will ever make.
How might you invest in yourself this month?
The author and reknowned thinker Orison Swett Marden said;
"Every Man builds his own world, makes his own atmosphere. He can fill it with difficulties, fears, doubts and despair and gloom, so that the whole life will be influenced to gloom and disaster: or he can keep the atmosphere clear, transparent and sweet by dispelling every gloomy, envious malicious thought. Hold the enduring, the immortal thought in the mind, and discord will disappear."
Marden wrote those words back in 1911, however they remain as relevant today as they did then. His ideas on harnessing your thoughts to invest in your self provide a useful template for your own self-reflection.
This month I invite you to start thinking about where you are investing your time and energy, so you can assess which areas you think you need to reinvest in or pull back from.
