Happy New Year to you! Now, you'd be forgiven for thinking I'm about to tell you all about how to set goals and make those resolutions a reality at this time of year, right? After all, isn't that what coaches do? Well...yes. But I know for a fact you already know this stuff. I know all year round you are working incredibly hard to achieve your goals, stick to your resolutions and live your best life. So hard in fact, that all this good living starts to feel a bit too much like hard work sometimes. So, no. I'm not going to tell you how to set goals and stick to resolutions. In the spirit of summer, I invite you to let all the 'hard work' go and simply do more of what you want to do. Build on your strengths and see what happens. Summer can be a great time to get more in the flow of your own life. The days are brighter, lighter and longer. Cool swims can leave us feeling refreshed and simple food can easily nourish us. Maybe you even have some time out from work to relax and reflect on things. Summer is an opportune time to notice the good things in your life by considering the following: What makes you happy? The sea breeze on an early morning solo beach walk? Visits with friends over icy cocktails in tall glasses? An afternoon snooze on the couch with the cat purring on your lap? Little things make a big impact on your overall happiness and quality of life. So this summer, let's figure out what those little things are and how we can do more of them year-round. Change can be easy. Change doesn't have to be dramatic, nor does it have to be a big deal to provide big results. While you're sitting under a tree in your hammock, or washing the dishes, notice the things in your lifestyle you love. If you are busy working this summer, the same goes for you. What aspects of your work do you enjoy? How can you do more of them? What difference might that make to your overall satisfaction? This month's newsletter is filled with little things that I hope bring you happiness and inspiration. Read on to discover some great summer books, a simple summer recipe and an inspiring story from one of my clients who's made some brave changes in time for 2018. Finally, an invitation. I invite you to simply ALLOW this season. Let the currents of good energy and sunshine take you wherever you wish to go with joy and ease into the new year. Go with the flow and see what happens.
